Thomas G. Fowler
Thomas G. Fowler, president of Tom Fowler, Inc., a full service graphic communications firm, is the creative force behind the award winning Connecticut Grand Opera & Orchestra posters and brochures for the last 5 years. He researches each opera thoroughly, sketches out his concepts in pencil first, then does a final color rendering which is then scanned into their computer system, and created digitally. He works closely with his production staff and the printer, H.T. Woods, to bring his concept to their final, visually captivating completion.
This year, Tom’s work has been heralded by national and international design
competitions, selected for inclusion in permanent collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Hamburg, Germany, and most notably, by the Library of Congress. Each year, the American Institute of Graphic Arts works with the Library of Congress to select distinguished American design for their permanent design archives. This year, Ms. Elena Millie, Curator of the Poster Collection of the Library of Congress, has selected two of the posters Tom created for the Connecticut Grand Opera & Orchestra to be included in their permanent collection. The two posters are “Fidelio” and “The Barber of Seville”.
