New Dimensions in Promotion
Ashland, KY – David E. Carter’s competition for unique dimensional promotions selected four specialized promotions designed by Tom Fowler, Inc. to be included in their full color, 184 page hardbound annual entitled Dimensional Promotions.
The selected promotions are:
– Tom Fowler, Inc. rubber-band activated polygon Pop-Up Calendar which instantly springs to life when removed from the mailing envelope.
– A promotional brochure “Why Not Take Another Look” for Canson-Talens, Inc., a leading producer of fine quality art and printing papers. The objective of this piece was to demonstrate the versatility and strength of their superior translucent paper – Canson Satin. This was achieved by using innovative typography and imagery and unique printing techniques as well as a tipped in sheet that allowed the viewer to create boxes using Canson Satin.
– Tom Fowler, Inc. Holiday Invitation – each invitation was hand crafted using a Japanese Saki box. A plexi-glass lid for each box was hand cut and fastened by embroidery thread with a hand drilled peg that was held in place by a hand colored wooden slide. The invitation inside – which looked like rolling snowy hills against a blue sky background – was hand cut and folded translucent paper inserted into the Saki box. As the recipient gently pulled out the invitation, it exposed the invitation information on the inside bottom of the box.
– A promotional piece “King James Cast Coat Pencil Puzzle” for James River Corporation’s premium coated paper. The objective with this promotion was to show how this paper could be printed with full ink coverage, scored and folded without any cracking to the sheet (a typical problem with coated papers). Inside the folder, were all the makings of a paper puzzle that you would construct yourself using the pieces provided and the instructions. By having the person actually fold the paper themselves, it immediately demonstrated the benefit of this paper.
This annual can be found in book stores around the globe.
