Las Vegas, NV — The week of October 31, 2016 was a busy week in Las Vegas, NV for Elizabeth Ball, President & Creative Director, and Mary Ellen Butkus, VP, who annually attend the two BIGGEST automotive aftermarket trade shows in the USA, that happen simultaneously.
The Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) is the premier global event representing the $356 billion global aftermarket auto care industry, held at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“We really enjoy this opportunity to meet with some of our automotive clients, talk to industry leaders, observe industry trends, exchange ideas, attend educational seminars, and so much more. We also worked on 2 big events for one of our clients that were going on at the same time (we’ll tell you more about that next month). I overheard someone say that their FitBit told them they had walked 13 miles in one day at the show. I can definitely believe that! It is exhausting but a lot of fun for us and well worth it.” said Ball.
Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Long shared with AAPEX attendees some impressive stats on this year’s show. Among them, Long noted that there were 2,300 exhibitors at this year’s AAPEX, along with a whopping 160,000 registrants combined for AAPEX 2016 and The SEMA Show. There also were 68,000 buyers, including 13,000 international buyers in attendance, and 22,000 service professionals walking the show floor.
