Congratulations to Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum
Norwalk, CT — We wanted to share the exciting news about one of our clients: The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum (LMMM) has won the most prestigious national award given by the American Association of State and Local History for the exhibit “The Stairs Below: The Mansion’s Domestic Servants, 1868-1938”. The AASLH bestows Leadership in History Awards to establish and encourage standards of excellence in the collection, preservation, and interpretation of state and local history in order to make the past more meaningful to all Americans.
The team at TFI Envision, Inc. is proud to have been able to develop the iconic graphics for “The Stairs Below” black-tie Gala materials and coordinating advertising, which has also garnered its share of design awards:
– Honorable Mention Award from the MarCom Awards Competition
– Award of Distinction from the American Graphic Design & Advertising 31 Awards (AGDA)
“We are grateful to have the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, a National Historic Landmark since 1971, right here in Norwalk, CT. The tireless efforts of Susan Gilgore, the Executive Director of LMMM, the LMMM board and volunteers make LMMM a “must visit” destination. They provide a range of events open to the community, tours, educational programs, high school internship programs, a young writers competition and so much more.” said Elizabeth P. Ball, President / Creative Director, TFI Envision, Inc.
The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is regarded as one of the earliest and most significant Second Empire Style country houses in the United States.
An interesting bit of LMMM history: LeGrand Lockwood sponsored “Fireworks on the Green” Fourth of July fireworks in Norwalk during the summer of 1861 and 1862.
