Origami-Like Utensils Morph Into Multiple Kitchen Tools
USA – Ori-Kit’s futuristic eating instruments take inspiration from origami to transform into different utensils. The space-saving kitchen set surpassed its $50,000 funding goal on Kickstarter, promising backers a set of six different pieces, consisting of three spoons of various sizes, a turner, a funnel and a colander.
Each space-saving instrument boasts a brilliant design, arriving flat and compact and shape-shifting into a utensil when needed. Certain pieces offer multiple uses: each spoon offers two sizes, collectively accounting for all conventional kitchen measurements, while the Ori-Colander can drain liquids, strain soups and remove pulp from juice. All items in the kit can withstand temperatures up to 500°F/260°C, and according to the designers, their unique flat design not only makes them better for storing, but prevents food waste as well.Perfect for travelers, small homes, eco warriors (the Ori-Kit is made sustainably from Teflon and silicone) and people who do their dishes by hand, the product claims to be durable despite its thinness.
