Byton Smart SUV Debuts At CES With Futuristic Vehicle Controls
China– Byton aims to build the premium intelligent electric vehicles for the future. The SUV prioritizes digital design and human-vehicle interaction. It is being manufactured at Byton’s plant in Nanjing, China, and will be available in the U.S. in 2020 with prices starting at $45,000.
The Byton Concept SUV has been designed to make technology benefit people’s lives by providing an enjoyable time for them while they’re on the move. The open digital cloud platform Byton Life connects apps, data and smart devices. When integrated with human-vehicle interaction tools (like voice recognition, touch control, biometric identification and hand gesture control technology), it helps take the intelligent experience inside the car to a new level.
Inside the vehicle, there is Shared Experience Display center console, along with three additional display screens. The display can be controlled with simple hand gestures from any position inside the car. For example, users can capture a location with a grabbing motion in the air and then put it into the maps function in the middle of the display to begin navigation.
Biometric recognition is used to identify the driver or passenger and unlock the door for them. The vehicle also recognizes driver and passenger info to auto-adjust seat angles, entertainment options and other details according to user preferences.
