Lyft Expands Its Service To Include A Monthly Subscription Option
USA– Ride-hailing app Lyft is looking to expand its business model, adding a monthly subscription option to its standard pay-per-use model. The packages being discussed are targeted at users who spend at least $450 in rides, and includes an option of $199 for 30 rides a month.
Uber tested this new model for ride-hailing back in 2016. It might be a convenient choice for those who use the app as a means of commuting. It could also reduce the number of cars on the road, since some people already opt to use apps like these instead of purchasing a car. However, at $399 for 60 rides, the price is higher than most regular leases-without the gas expense or any of the other costs associated with car ownership. However, the option does seem like a potentially beneficial model for all parties involved, including the environment.
