“La Traviata” is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi set to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. La traviata means “the fallen woman” or “the one who goes astray” and refers to the main character, Violetta Valéry, a courtesan.
This award winning poster was designed and illustrated by Thomas G. Fowler for the Connecticut Grand Opera & Orchestra. Printed in a extremely limited quantity on high quality paper by H.T. Woods in 1996.
